International tax cases in times of economic crisis
Conference: Tax Treaty Case Law around the globe

Decisions in tax treaty cases increasingly affect the interpretation and application of tax treaties in other countries. During the conference 'Tax Treaty Case Law around the globe' from 14-16 June at Tilburg University in the Netherlands the most important tax treaty cases which have been decided in 2011 all over the world will be discussed.

The latest developments in respect of beneficial ownership, tax treaty abuse, tax treaty residence and attribution of profits to permanent establishments are among the topics discussed at this first tax conference from an international perspective on Dutch soil. Increasing budgetary constraints due to the economic crisis give these topics even more urgency. Experts of 24 jurisdictions coming from five continents will present the most relevant decisions taken in their countries.

The conference is organized by the European Tax College (Tilburg University / K.U. Leuven) and the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), with support of PwC. For the conference program and speakers see www.europeantaxcollege.com.
