Kees Koedijk has permanently appointed Pien Versteegh Managing Director of the Faculty. In January of this year, Pien replaced Nicole Fouchier as interim Managing Director of FEB. This interim appointment has now been made permanent. From January 2006 until January 2008, Pien worked as Managing Director of CentER. Before that, she was Advisor and Coordinator of Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. More>>
Efact Award For Benjamin Friedman
American economist Benjamin Friedman (Harvard, US), keynote speaker at this year's Van Lanschot Lecture, received the Tjalling C. Koopmans Efact Award. The award was presented to him by Efact chair Martine ten Kate, after the Lecture on 12 June.
Faculty Emergency Services
We are currently looking for a 'Building Coordinator' who will be the spokesperson for the Faculty regarding emergency services. Additionally, the coordinator will be responsible for other team members, in terms of activitities and presence. The coordinator will help recruit these members to complete the current emergency service team. (More information). On Thursday 29 May, Charles and Katia Noussair became proud parents of Linda. Additionally, on 12 June, Kuno and Inge Huisman become proud parents of their second daughter Rose.
Honorary Medal for Arie Kapteyn and Anton Barten
Prof.Dr.Ir. Arie Kapteyn and Prof.Dr. Anton Barten, the 'founding fathers' of CentER, have been awarded the Tjalling C. Koopmans Medal. They received this FEB honorary prize because of their prominent role in the foundation of CentER, during the Center: 20 Years of Top Research event on Thursday 12 June.
